There are now more than 6'000 patients registered in the ESID Online Database for Primary Immunodeficiencies. CVID forms the largest group with 1'280 entries.

Prior to the next General Assembly, which will take place at the Biennial Meeting in 's-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands, the ESID members will be asked to cast an electronic vote for the ESID board. This year's PID Consortium will take place on June 5th 2008 in Boston. It is co-organized by the Clinical Immunology Society (CIS), Section of Clinical Immunology & Allergy of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM), European Society of Immunodeficiency (ESID) and the National Institute of Allergy & Infectious Diseases (NIAID)/Office of Rare Diseases.

The European Society for Immunodeficiencies (ESID) is a non-profit organization having multiple aims. The main objectives are to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information among doctors, nurses, biomedical investigators, patients and their families concerned with primary immunodeficiency diseases and also to promote research on causes, mechanisms and treatment of these disorders. Recently ESID has initiated an educational program.
ESID was established as an informal group in 1983 and became a society in 1994. ESID organizes bi-annual scientific meetings, click here to get information about the next meeting.
