Topic: IRF7 deficiency explains life-threatening respiratory viral infections in otherwise healthy humans
Speaker: Tessa Campbell (Sweden)
Recording of the session is available here.
Speaker: Tessa Campbell (Sweden)
Tessa is an SSMF Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the group of Yenan Bryceson at Karolinska Institutet. She investigates plasmacytoid dendritic cell function and NK cell homeostasis using cases of primary immunodeficiency. Tessa completed her PhD in herpesvirology at the University of Sydney, where she also obtained her B.Sc (Honours I).
In this session Tessa will talk about her research publication: Respiratory viral infections in otherwise healthy humans with inherited IRF7 deficiency.
Research description: Characterisation of IRF7 deficiency and support for compensatory immunity underlying the surprisingly narrow disease susceptibility.
Moderator: Laura Covill (Sweden)
Laura Covill is a PhD student in the lab of Professor Yenan Bryceson at the Karolinska Institute, working on workflow development for genetic and epigenetic diagnostics of primary immunodeficiencies. She also holds a BSc in Biochemistry from King's College London, and an MRes in Molecular Genetics from the University of York.
