Dear ESID Junior Members,

This autumn we have enjoyed together of many Junior activities during ESID Focused Meeting in Brussels, like Summer School Reunion Lunch, ESID Junior’s networking event at Madame Moustache or the already classical success “Expect the Unexpected” Junior WP Session.

But there is much more happening around ESID Junior’s community!  Have a look and stay tuned!

ESID JUNIOR COUNTRY REPRESENTATIVES RENEWALS

We had a meeting with the current ESID Junior Country Representatives, during which we decided that every two years we will have optional renewals for new Country Representatives, who will work on this for a maximum of 4 years. We are currently working on a document with the tasks for a Country representative. You will soon receive this, as well as the call for new applications. Elections will take place electronically during the second semester 2020, but before ESID meeting in Birmingham.

ESID MENTORING PROGRAMME

Mentoring programme is aimed to serve as a help to those Junior members from countries where education and research in PIDs is poor, and therefore lack of senior members who can advise them on their initial steps through this world.  Communication through internet conference calls with their mentors will allow the Junior participants to be guided in diverse topics such as how to write a research project, advise on writing a paper, applying for a grant, etc.
Application for Students closes on 10th January! Please view more details here.

ESID SUMMERSCHOOL

Applications are now open!!! If you allow me a personal recommendation, do not leave this for the last moment (Deadline: 6th January 2020). ESID Summerschool is highly competitive and therefore applications require to dedicate some time (it is worthy once selected!!). This year Summerschool will take place in Greece, 14-17 May 2020. Please view more details  here.

And of course, you can already book your agenda for Biennial ESID Meeting at Birmingham 2020, and start thinking on abstracts to present!
Time flies and it will soon be time to submit your abstract!

I wish you all a great and successful 2020,

Best wishes
