Dear friends,

Despite the weird moments we are living, this Winter has been very fruitful in regards to developing educational and scientific tools for our Junior membership.

We have started a series of Journal Club webinars, in which ESID Junior members present their recently published results within a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The discussion is then moderated also by an ESID Junior member , increasing the chances of getting to know each other better. If you want to either present or moderate a session, write us an email!

These Journal Clubs are hosted every two months, normally around 18h, and the link is sent through the social networks of ESID Juniors at Facebook and Slack.  All the sessions are recorded and the video is afterwards uploaded to ESID Junior’s Youtube Channel, however, if you want to enjoy the discussion, you need to join live!

Also at ESID Junior’s Youtube channel we are placing our Educational Videos, created by the ESID Junior’s Video Team. We are looking for people to join this team and work on the development of new contents. There are many things that can be done (writing script, drawing the content, recording the voice..).

Finally, we are planning to start a series of Clinical Cases presentations, also via webinar, alternating with the Journal Clubs. We are therefore looking for people willing to present a clinical case in a very interactive manner, following the now so missed “Summerschool” style ;)

As you see, there are many different ways to be an active part of the ESID Junior’s community, and we are very happy to increase our groups! So, If you want to be part of our team, please send us an email to

And if you are still reading this letter, I want now to invite you to visit ESID Website to get all the information about the new grants that ESID is offering! We have designed a new grant called “ESID Bridge Grant”, aiming to help our members on those first months in between educational levels (after master thesis, after PhD...) until they find the way to enrol on the next scientific adventure.  The calls for this new grant will follow the same schedule as the ESID Fellowships, with two calls every year (April/October normally).   We hope that you find them useful!

And with this I have nothing more to comment, only manifesting my wish of meeting again in person soon.  In the meanwhile, stay tuned and see you at the webinars!!

Best wishes
